Self Care, Working with Stress, and Relaxation As A Business Owner

Acute stress is adaptive and serve the purpose of moving us out of the way of danger quickly. It's a good thing. Chronic stress, on the other hand, is NOT good for us but unfortunately many of us suffer from it. This course is designed to teach participants about the neurobiological and psychological nature of stress, offer specific stress-reduction techniques, and empower people to take control of their mental and physical health. The goal is to provide participants with a sound understanding of what stress is, when it's bad, and, most important, how to reduce it so you can shine as brightly as possible and let your business bloom!

Embracing Success & Failure in Business

We’re taught, formally and informally, to avoid failure at all costs, but that goes beyond our biological drive to use failure to better our future outcomes. This session aims to reconcile the fallacy of failure by creating both a theoretical and experiential context for moving toward, rather than away from, failure in order to ultimately succeed. In this session, you will learn about the neuroscience of failure including why failure feels so uncomfortable (psychologically and physically), why we fear failure, and how failure is actually used by the brain to adjust for the future and promote success. In this session, you will we learn how to sit in the mentally and physically uncomfortable space of failure and learn to choose more desired and productive reactions to ultimately set ourselves up to succeed.

The Practice of Positive Thinking & Optimism in Business

“Whether we think we can or think we can’t, we’re right” said Henry Ford. The truth of this statement lies in how we train our brain. We adopt a thinking style because of experiences that we encounter and those experiences literally change our brain. The question is, what thinking style do we want to adopt? Do we want to be positive or negative? Optimistic or Pessimistic? Healthy or Unhealthy. Successful or Unsuccessful? Depressed or Happy? To a large extent each of these ways of existing are within our grasp. What we need to do is become aware of how we thinking now and then choose a way of thinking for the future and then let the practice of positive thinking change us, our life, our brain, and our business! In this session will learn not only see the good in yourself and your work but also achieve more as a result of a brighter, more positive perspective!

This session will help you identify each of these in pursuit of a meaningful goal for 2015 as it relates to your business endeavour!
