Applying Neuroscience

Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system and the nervous system is responsible for accessing information from outside our body (e.g., color, smells, touch, spatial surroundings, threats, etc.) from within our body (e.g., heart rate, hormone levels, gut sensations, muscle contractions, oxygen levels, etc.) and then using that information to direct our behavior, thoughts, and feelings (which are both conscious and unconscious), and also direct bodily functions (e.g., arousal, digestion, sleep, reproduction, etc.). A combination of information input and output is what gives rise to our human experiences. In a nutshell.

Simply put: We are neuroscience.

It is quite obvious to me that neuroscience can be applied to anything that involves human experiences. To date, I have applied neuroscience to many domains of life, including coaching, personal development, student learning experience in the classroom, performance enhancement, stress management, child rearing and parenting, dog training, social media, health and wellness, entrepreneurship, creativity, intuition, meditation, yoga, mindfulness, equity & inclusion, feminism…

There is no shortages of opportunities TO apply neuroscience broadly across all human experiences. The shortage is in my time, capacity, and resources.
